60 people turned up for the first ever Stoke Newington history pub quiz, which was organised by the Green Lanes N16 Traders & Residents Association (GLTRA) . Quiz Master Joey Bartram did a great job delivering the questions I had written. Hopefully we can do it again this time next year!

Amir Dotan

I’ve lived in Stoke Newington in the London Borough of Hackney since 2002 and became interested in its history in 2011.

A history buff from a young age, I research Stoke Newington’s rich colourful past as a hobby, collecting and sharing material from archives, online resources, books and private collections. I was a local history adviser on BBC’s Antique Roadshow, Sky Arts’ Landscape Artist of the Year and Channel 5’s Jay Blades – No Place Like Home.

In 2016 I launched ‘Stoke Newington History Talks‘; a reoccurring event every few months featuring three local history talks. Subscribe to the mailing list to be notified about upcoming events.
