Projects

This section brings together a range of projects that present my work in accessible and varied formats, from self-guided walks and visual comparisons to informal drop-in sessions and smaller pieces. While grounded in research, these projects are designed to be easy to browse and engage with.

Local History Drop-In Sessions

Informal drop-in sessions where people could bring questions about Stoke Newington’s history and explore them using maps, photographs and other sources. Held on three occasions between 2022 and 2023, these sessions offered a direct and open way to engage with the area’s past.

Self-Guided Walks

Explore Stoke Newington through a series of self-guided walks, each focused on a specific theme drawn from my research. These include a walk along the historic boundaries of the former borough and a route tracing the sites of lost pubs and beerhouses. Each walk can be followed at your own pace and combines historical context with detailed routes through the area.

Then & Now

A series of image comparisons that combine historical photographs with present-day views of the same locations. Using overlays, sliders and animations, these pieces show how streets and buildings have changed over time, and what has remained.

Stoke Newington’s Lonely Hearts Club Band Poster

Final poster1

A creative project inspired by the iconic Beatles album cover, reimagined using figures and references from Stoke Newington’s history.
